* Dryden is the father of the English Criticism.

* Dryden was a poet, dramatist, and prose writer.

* He starts to put the rules of criticism.

* There are 4 persons he had created ( Eugenius - Crites - Lisidius - Neander ).

* The first dialogue is between Eugenius and Crites.

* Crites is stands for the ancient drama writers and he supported the ancient drama.
* Crites said that the ancient drama writers is perfect imimtators of nature. They were the first
to use the rules of drama and its unities.
* The 3 unities of drama are ( Unity of time - of place - of action ).
* The explanation of unities is in page 113 - 114.

* Eugenius supported the modern drama.

* The function of drama on Aristotle is to delight and instruction of mankind.

* Poesy is respected and esteemed among the ancient Masters.

* Plato said the poets are bad imitators in copy of reality.
